Reading

I read all of The George Lucas Educational Foundataion website and looked at an activity about the Underground Railroad that had maps, timelines and information regarding the Underground Railroad

Rules of Thumbs

RULE OF THUMB #1
Design Lesson Plans that enable appropriate learning oppurtunites and that apply appropriate technology instuctional activities that adhere to different learning abilities of students.

RULE OF THUMB #2
Assess students acheivments and what they are learning through a variety of technology techniques.

Assignment #1

All throughout my educational experience, I feel as if I've been shortchanged in reagards to using technology in the classroom. Granted, it was three years ago since I graduated, but still it was that long ago. We never used technology and I think because of that I very hesitant in this class and the experiences that could come from using technology and teaching in the classroom. I feel as because of my experiences that there really isn't a grave need for technology in the classroom. But I do know that the students I would be teaching already know far above anything I knew regarding technology and that technology is truly another learning aspect that might help students.
If I had the chance to go back and talk to some of my teachres regarding technology , I'm not quite sure what advice I might give them. One teacher that I might go back and talk to a biology teacher, whose not only lectures were boring but I know could use some advancement in his teaching in to the 21st century. I know that there are many resources that he could find and use from technology that would make biology to many of his students come alive. I would definately reccomend to a majority of my teachers that they take a technology in teaching course like what was talked about on George Lucas Edcucational Foundation, a only 2- 3 hour session would broden their horizons regarding application of technology in a classroom setting.
